In Memoriam
On this Saint Patrick’s Day, we remember our dedicated and faithful Hibernians who have gone to their Eternal Rest. We especially remember Walter Murray, Richard Cauntiz and Moira Reilly. May they all Rest In Peace.
Parade Dedication 2024
We also celebrate the immense contributions of the Irish – a people who have enriched the world through their hard work, culture, arts, music, and courage despite centuries of oppression. As we observe this day, let’s look past the commercialized symbols and stereotypes to embrace and celebrate the rich Irish heritage and the enduring spirit that St. Patrick’s life exemplifies. Let us honor this day’s profound cultural and historical significance to the world and America this St. Patrick’s Day.

As we gather in Pearl River for the 60th Rockland County St. Patrick’s Day Parade, let us remember the true meaning of this day beyond the superficial revelry often portrayed in the media. St. Patrick’s Day is not green beer and extravagant hats; it’s a day to honor the remarkable life of St. Patrick, a figure of resilience and forgiveness. Kidnapped in his youth and taken to Ireland, Patrick endured slavery and hardship. However, upon his escape, Patrick chose forgiveness over hate, returning to Ireland as a missionary and becoming one of the first recorded voices to condemn slavery. Patrick’s legacy is a testament to the power of understanding and reconciliation, a message that resonates across all faiths and is needed more than ever in our troubled world.
