Sean Michael Walsh was born and raised in Englewood, NJ as the youngest of seven children. His parents, Ann (nee Duddy) and Eugene Walsh, were both proud Irish-Catholics and instilled in him and his siblings at a young age the need for, not only a strong sense of pride in their Irish ancestry, but also a commitment to civic duty by helping others through charitable works. Sean’s grandparents emigrated from Cork, Leitrim, and Donegal in the early 20th century.
Sean was educated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Tenafly, NJ, Bergen Catholic High School in Oradell, NJ, and received his Bachelor of Science from the Manhattan College School of Business in Riverdale, NY in 1991. He married his wife Kimberly, whom he met while at Manhattan College, in July of 1999 at St. Ann’s Church in Nyack.
Upon moving to Pearl River with his young family in 2009, Sean joined AOH Division 3 to give back and ensure that his children would be raised in the same way and manner in which he and his wife were. From the start, Sean got involved with both the House and the Division. In his first few years with the AOH Sean facilitated several events including pub football and horse racing parties and Manhattan College vs Iona basketball game nights. Each year he and his family would donate a full Thanksgiving dinner for the annual food drop to local families in need and would also donate large quantities of children’s coats for the annual Family Christmas Fund. In 2012 Sean chaired Division 3’s Annual Memorial Golf Outing for the first time and led a committee that changed the golf outing into the annual event it is today. In total, Sean has chaired the golf outing 8 of the last 11 years. Sean served as the Rockland County AOH Vice-President from 2013-2015 and is currently in his second term as the AOH Division 3 Vice-President. Sean has also served as the Awards Chairperson for the annual Rockland County Saint Patrick’s Day Parade for the past several years. Sean’s other AOH honors and positions include the following: 2013-AOH Division 3 Battalion Commander RCAOH Saint Patrick’s Day Parade; 2015 and 2018- Emerald Ball Journal Chair; and 2018-AOH Div. 3 Aide to the Grand Marshal RCAOH Saint Patrick’s Day Parade.
Through the AOH, Sean got involved with the Lourdes Kids of Rockland at its inception, assisting with countless fundraising events from the initial Night at the Races through its Annual Golf Outing. In 2023, Sean traveled as a chaperon to Lourdes, France for the annual pilgrimage. He describes the experience as both humbling and life-changing.
Sean has been a mainstay in the kitchen at the AOH Div. 3 Hibernian House for years now. Cooking for anything and everything needed including the Pot O’ Gold drawing parties, Special Needs Christmas Breakfast, and the Division’s Annual Communion Breakfast and other events where needed. He has also been a lector at the Annual Communion Mass. Sean is also a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 329. In 2021, Post 329 recognized Sean with a Meritorious Service Award in appreciation of his efforts to assist homebound veterans and community members during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Sean’s wife Kim and three sons are also regular volunteers at many of the events Sean volunteers at including the Annual Special Needs Reverse Parade at Christmas time.
Sean’s volunteerism goes beyond the AOH as he is a former member of both the Orangetown Golf Committee and Pearl River Little League. He is a current member of the Orangetown Housing Authority Board and most recently was appointed to the Montefiore Nyack Hospital Board of Trustees.
Over the years Sean also volunteered as both manager and assistant coach for little league baseball and most recently was the Manager of the 2023 Rockland County 16U Senior League Baseball Champions – Pearl River Yankees.
Sean’s professional experience is that of an executive in the pharmaceutical supply chain and healthcare industry. He is currently the National Pharmacy Practice Lead for Risk Strategies Consulting. Sean is married to Kimberly (nee Reilly of West Nyack, NY) and they have 3 children Tyler James, Dylan Patrick and Liam Daniel, each of whom are currently students at Pearl River High School. Sean has been a resident of Rockland County for 25 years and his family spends their summers in Rhode Island with family and friends enjoying fishing and time together sitting around the campfire.
Sean is a proud Irish-Catholic and is always willing to help out a family member, friend or stranger in need.
