In response to numerous questions, yes the Rockland County AOH St. Patrick’s Day Parade will be held on St. Patrick’s Day, Sunday 3/17/19 starting at 1:30. This is not a conflict with the NYC St. Patrick’s Day Parade. As per long-standing tradition, in years when the City parade falls on a Sunday, the City parade is held on the preceding Saturday, 3/16. The NYC parade shifts their date to accommodate St. Patrick’s Cathedral Sunday mass schedule and the Regimental Mass of the NY 69th regiment which traditionally precedes the parade. The Rockland County AOH St.Patrick’s Day Parade is always the Sunday after the NYC parade, which means that this year it actually is on St. Patrick’s Day.
