Learn to Sing the Irish National Anthem in Irish

September 5, 2015 by Administrator

The playing of the American and Irish National Anthems is traditional at every Irish American Event.  The Irish National Anthem, The Soldier’s Song was written in 1907 by Peadar Kearney, who was an uncle of Brendan Behan, with music provided by Patrick Heeney.  It first came to popularity when it was sung by the volunteers during the rising in 1916[ as the centenary approaches, what an appropriate time to learn to sing it in the native language of our ancestors.
