Teresa Morris, a long time resident of Nanuet, was born in County Leitrim, Ireland. She is the first born of the late Eddie and Rose Higgins (nee Egan) of Mohill and Ballinamore. Following a brief stay in London, England Teresa came to the United States in 1958. She graduated from Westchester Community College, with a Degree in Nutrition, in 1988.
Continuing her education, she became a New York State Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist. For over twenty years she worked for the Westchester County Department of Health – Woman, Infants and Children Nutrition Department.
Teresa is an active member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians – Division 3, in Pearl River, New York. She has held various Office’s and served on many Committees over the years. Currently, she is the L.A.O.H. County Board Vice President. She is also a long serving member of the Rockland County Feis Committee, the County Leitrim Society of New
York, and Rockland County Saint Patrick,s Day Parade Committee.
Teresa proudly served as Aide to the New York City Grand Marshall in 2009, Ladies A.O.H. Division 3 Aide to the Pearl River Parade Grand Marshall in 2000, Rockland County L.A.O.H. Aide in 2006, and Rockland County Feis Aide in 2008.
Married to the late Gerald Morris, Teresa is the loving mother of three children – Ann (Fran), Michael, and Trlsh (Dessie) – and grandmother of two beautiful grandchildren, Kelly and Jennifer.
